One of the goal of the RAINGAIN PROJECT is to obtain high resolution weather and improve urban hydrology models to better manage flash flood events over urbanized cities. Four populated cities, London, Leuven, Paris, and Rotterdam were chosen to conduct initial planning and research. In Rotterdam, a Doppler X-band radar with polarimetric capabilities will be installed in January 2014 on top of the Nationale Nederlanden office building at the Delftse Poort twin-tower skyscraper complex.
